West Seawall Trail
The seawall provides easy access to Stanley Park's marine wildlife viewing areas. The 2 kilometer section from English Bay to Second Beach introduces the major features of Stanley Park's shoreline - sand, coble, and rocky (sandstone) beaches backed by low sea cliffs. For those who take the time to look and listen the seawall offers insight into the lives of wildlife species dependent upon the resouces this shore provides.
Caspian terns make spectacular plunge dives from high above the sea surface. This noisy tern with a raspy, heron-like, voice was catching small perch.
