Habitat: Foreshore, Freshwater
Large numbers of mallards are resident in Stanley Park. Gregarious, bold and versatile. They feed on wet fields, freshwater ponds and lakes and the seashore.
Feeding:
Dabbler
Plants, seeds, aquatic invertebrates.
Mallards show a wide variety a feeding strategies.
Behaviour:
Mate for season but take new mate each year.
Courtship behaviour may be observed almost year-round.
Breeds in Stanley Park around Lost Lagoon and Beaver Lake.
