Introduction: Ecosystems come in many sizes from planet sized to continental and province, city sized ecosystems and smaller. No matter what size they are, ecosystems help us build a more complete picture of the world. The science of ecology with its framework of nested ecosystems helps all of us, see, and appreciate, the natural world. Different systems of ecosystem classification provide us with varying points of view. What might have been hidden from one point of view may become visible from another. What's more, it is not just that things, biotic or living organisms and abiotic or non-living components, come more clearly into view, but that the relationships that connect them are brought into focus. Ecosystem Classification Four systems of ecosystem classification are used in British Columbia
