In Stanley Park
The biotic and abiotic components of Stanley Park's flowing, freshwater ecosystems are not well documented. In fact little, real, information is available.
Background:
The park has few, if any, natural perennial streams. The hydrology of Stanley Park has been extensively altered over the past 150 years and the significat
human impact on stream ecosystems has not been assessed. Ceperly Creek and the Aquarium's "Salmon Stream" are examples of constructed streams
which use city water to supply their total stream flow. North Creek's water flow is supplemented and maintained using city water.
